Russian military personnel at the forefront are actively using Drok self-propelled mortars based on the Typhoon armored vehicle. It takes less than a minute for the equipment to switch from the stowed position to the combat position, which helps to quickly evade enemy fire and increases crew safety.
Rostec noted that the new mortars have a target firing range more than 1.5 times greater than that of the standard 2B14 Podnos mortars.
The Drok is equipped with an optoelectronic sight and a remotely controlled combat module with a circular rotation machine gun, as well as an additional portable 2B24 mortar, which can be used by a foot crew outside the vehicle.
Thanks to the digital system, the mortar can both carry out secure information interaction with control vehicles and operate autonomously.
