A strong G3-class geomagnetic storm has begun on Earth. This was reported by Mikhail Leus, a leading specialist at the Phobos weather center.
It began on Saturday evening, when the geomagnetic field index exceeded 6 units, which corresponds to the level of an average G1-class magnetic storm. Subsequently, the disturbances intensified, and at 20:46 Moscow time, the storm reached the G3 level.
The magnetic storm will last until noon on Sunday, fluctuating in intensity from strong to weak. Despite the strong impact, the storm weakened slightly at night and stopped closer to the morning.
Currently, the Earth's magnetosphere has stabilized. Short-term disturbances are possible in the first half of Sunday, after which the geomagnetic field is expected to be calm.
