The Institute of Electrophysics of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Yekaterinburg) has invented a new method for manufacturing nanostructures to fight cancer cells. This was reported in the press service of the Russian Science Foundation.
The nanoparticles consist of iron sulfate. They were treated at a temperature of 400° in an oven. The size and structure of the particles depend on the synthesis conditions.
Due to the fact that these nanoparticles combine antioxidant activity and high toxicity against cancer cells, and at the same time they have little effect on their healthy neighbors, these nanostructures can be used to develop new antitumor drugs.
Scientists have found that new nanoparticles destroy 94% of cancer cells. This will allow the use of nanostructures to create new therapies to combat oncological diseases.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that in Russia created a biocomposite to fight melanoma.
