Servicemen of a unit of the 8th Radio Engineering Brigade of the Armed Forces of Belarus are conducting continuous radar reconnaissance at the Ashuluk training ground in the Astrakhan region. Maneuvers are taking place here with the participation of the Russian military, the Ministry of Defense of the republic reported.
Deployed in the steppe plain, radars are capable of detecting, recognizing, and tracking a target in a matter of seconds.
According to the commander of the 8th Radio Engineering Brigade, Alexei Motol, combat firing of Russian S-300 and Tor-M2 anti-aircraft missile systems (SAM) will take place at the training ground. The combat capabilities of these systems can be realized in cooperation with units of radio engineering troops, he added.
For our brigade, this exercise is an exam on the coherence of actions in detecting, tracking, and issuing radar information to the command post.
