Выстоят против американской Javelin и израильской Spike: ВС России получат танки Т-90М «Прорыв» с активной защитой «Арена-М»

Chief of the Main Armaments Directorate of the Russian Armed Forces, Gulyaev, presented Uralvagonzavod with the corresponding state contracts for supply

Uralvagonzavod (part of Rostec) will transfer modernized T-90 tanks with the T09-A6-1 Arena-M active protection system to the Russian Armed Forces.

Arena-M

In addition, the Russian Armed Forces will receive a batch of modernized heavy flamethrower systems TOS-1A on the T-80 base chassis.

The corresponding contracts were signed at the Army-2024 military-technical forum by Colonel-General Anatoly Gulyaev, Chief of the Main Armaments Directorate of the Russian Armed Forces, and Dmitry Semizorov, Deputy General Director of Uralvagonzavod.

The modernized Arena-M active protection system for armored vehicles is capable of repelling an attack by any anti-tank missile, including the Israeli Spike and the American Javelin. The system provides protection for the vehicle from any direction.

The ammunition is fired and deployed to meet the threat. There are pulsed correction engines that allow the ammunition to be deployed in the shortest possible time. This has made it possible to provide complete all-round protection.
Vladimir Kharkin, Head of the Development and Design Department of the Kolomna KBM

Arena-M operates in automatic mode, providing protection in azimuth at 360 degrees and from -6 to 20 degrees in elevation.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that the Russian Navy will receive two nuclear submarines, Knyaz Pozharsky and Arkhangelsk, by the end of 2024. They will undergo state tests, following which they will be transferred to the fleet.
