Против дрона два патрона: Ростех представил специализированные заряды для борьбы с беспилотниками

The solution for combating mini-drones was showcased at the "Army-2024" forum

At the International Military-Technical Forum "Army-2024" in Kubinka near Moscow, the Rostec State Corporation presented specialized cartridges for rifles and shotguns designed to combat mini-drones. The IGLA AnDr and IGLA Vector AnDr ammunition, developed by the Research Institute of Applied Chemistry, have improved characteristics and are designed for the effective destruction of low-flying unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

Features of IGLA AnDr and IGLA Vector AnDr cartridges

Two main types of cartridges were presented at the exhibition: IGLA AnDr and IGLA Vector AnDr. Both types of ammunition have a caliber of 12/76 and are designed to destroy small-sized drones through the kinetic energy of the projectile. Key features and characteristics of these cartridges:

IGLA AnDr:

  • Loaded with shot size #0000-5 or buckshot with a diameter of 6.2-8.5 mm.
  • A non-container version is provided for close ranges, ensuring a high shot pattern at a distance of up to 35 m.
  • The container version is designed to engage targets at a distance of up to 100 m.

IGLA Vector AnDr:

  • Equipped with a red light element to visualize the flight of the shot and correct the direction of the shot.
  • The visualization distance of the light element is from 20 to 100 m.

Advantages and Applications

The specialized cartridges for rifles and shotguns presented by Rostec have several advantages compared to conventional hunting and sporting cartridges. They are distinguished by the use of special gunpowder with enhanced characteristics and heavier shot of increased hardness, which allows them to effectively engage mini-drones made of durable plastic and metal materials. The high velocity of the shot, accuracy of the shot, and maximum target engagement range make them an effective means of combating mini-UAVs in real combat operations.

As noted by Bekkhan Ozdoev, Industrial Director of the Conventional Arms, Ammunition, and Special Chemistry Cluster of the Rostec State Corporation, mini-drones pose a significant threat, and combating them with standard means, such as anti-aircraft missiles, is not always effective. In this regard, Rostec is developing alternative methods of counteraction, including mini-missiles, electronic warfare systems, and specialized ammunition for small arms.

The cartridges are intended for use by special forces personnel, security services, as well as for the protection of militarized facilities and critical infrastructure.
