Rutube на iOS — всё: Apple опять удалила приложение российского видеохостинга из App Store

Roskomnadzor Demanded Rutube's Return to the App Store

The Russian video hosting app Rutube has been removed from the App Store. The app remains available for users of gadgets based on the Android OS via Google Play.

The reasons for removing the app may be related to Apple's policy requiring the concealment of content from Russian state media. Last year, Rutube refused to remove such content, stating that it violates the rights of Russian-speaking users.

Those who have already downloaded the app on iOS devices can continue to use it, but new users will not be able to download it. Rutube stated that they are working to restore access to the app in the App Store.

Roskomnadzor sent a letter to the administration of the App Store platform demanding the removal of all imposed restrictions, informing the agency about this, and providing explanations for the reasons for removing the app from the App Store.

Against the backdrop of restrictions imposed on other platforms, Rutube has become an important alternative for Russian bloggers and media, especially for those involved in political and social content.
