The Russian company Enix has developed the Astra air launch platform. This is a training target on which air defense (AD) units must practice combating aerial targets.
Astra is a simulator of maneuvering targets such as UAVs, gliding guided aerial bombs, cruise missiles, and partially aircraft and helicopters of tactical and army aviation.
The drone is dropped from an aircraft and flies at a speed of up to 580 km/h, at an altitude of up to 3 km. It moves using a pulsejet engine and lands with a parachute. The flight duration is 25 minutes.
Recall that the Army-2024 military-technical forum will be held from August 12 to 14 in the Patriot Park.
Tactical and technical characteristics of the Astra platform:
- Flight altitude — from 200 to 3000 m
- Range — 70 km
- Maximum horizontal flight speed — 580 km/h
- Navigation — GPS/GLONASS
- Payload — Luneburg lens or corner reflector
- Power plant — pulsating air-jet engine
- Starting weight — 130 kg
- Length — 3.23 m
- Wingspan — 2.3 m
- Operating temperature range — from -30 to +40℃
- Start — drop from an aircraft
- Landing — by parachute
Earlier www1.ru reported that the Russian Armed Forces began to use a new type of missile to destroy the enemy. They fly much further and twice as accurately thanks to the built-in motor.
