The Kalashnikov concern, together with TsNIITOCHMASH, continues to work on new generation equipment for the Russian military called "Legionnaire".

This equipment, which will take Russian soldiers to a new level on the battlefield, became known in 2023. The "Legionnaire" kit will be equipped with artificial intelligence, will be able to control mini-drones, and even autonomous vehicles and will be resistant to enemy electronic warfare equipment. Some of the equipment options are not disclosed.

In an interview with the TASS news agency, the president of the Kalashnikov concern, Alan Lushnikov, noted that research work on the kit has already been completed.

Firstly, "Legionnaire" is not just equipment. This is a complex life support system for a fighter using artificial intelligence. Such projects are not implemented in six months or even a year. Currently, work on the project is in the completion stage of the R&D stage. The project implementation plan has been agreed with the customer, as have all relevant works.

Lushnikov also noted that neural networks will also be introduced into the kamikaze UAVs from Kalashnikov.
