НК «Роснефть» приступила к производству более экологичных буровых растворов

They use a low-viscosity carbon base

Angarsk Petrochemical Company (JSC ANKhK) (part of Rosneft) has started production of a new type of drilling mud, Rosneft Drilltec B2. These muds have improved environmental characteristics due to the use of a low-viscosity hydrocarbon base. The development was carried out jointly by Rosneft, JSC ANKhK, RN-Lubricants, and the corporate research institute in Moscow.

As a result of the new technology, the content of aromatic hydrocarbons in the solution was reduced to 0.8%, and sulfur to 2 ppm. In addition, the product retains its effectiveness at extremely low temperatures down to -40°C. This makes it suitable for use in cold climates.

ANKhK has already begun supplying the first batches of the new drilling mud to Rosneft's drilling divisions. The high demand for innovative materials in the oil and gas industry is due to the development of drilling technologies, including the drilling of extended horizontal wells. ANKhK's production facilities allow it to produce more than 2,000 tons of new drilling mud per month.

JSC "Angarsk Petrochemical Company" is a leading enterprise in Eastern Siberia in the field of oil and petrochemical production, offering more than 280 product names, including gasoline, diesel fuel, aviation kerosene, oils, bitumen and other chemical products.
