B05Ya01 "Berezhok" combat modules (developed by specialists from the Tula-based Instrument Design Bureau, KBP) are an aid to commanders and gunner-operators of modernized BMP-2M (infantry fighting vehicles) of motorized rifle units of the Russian Armed Forces, writes military expert Evgeny Damantsev.
According to him, the BMP crew uses multi-channel sights of the "Sodema" line (developed by the Vologda Optical and Mechanical Plant, part of the Shvabe holding) to fire anti-tank guided missiles (ATGMs) 9M133M-2/FM-3 of the Kornet ATGM system at a distance of up to 3300 m.
At a distance of up to 2100 m, fire can be conducted from closed firing positions from the AG-30M automatic grenade launcher, including with the use of the DS-T4 ballistic computer from Dedal-NV.
The standard armament includes a 30-mm 2A42 automatic cannon. Servicemen can use high-explosive incendiary tracer rounds and armor-piercing discarding sabot ammunition 3UBR8 "Kerner."
