The "St. Panteleimon" medical train was shown for the first time at the Yaroslavsky railway station in Moscow. The mobile advisory and diagnostic center will depart on its first voyage in September of this year.
The train's staff consists of 90 people. The route will pass through 8 regions of Russia. It will cover 59 hard-to-reach settlements.
The train includes 14 cars. Eight of them are for medical purposes (surgery, therapy, diagnostics, staff room, reception, laboratory). The remaining cars are for staff (compartments, headquarters, shower).
The train also has a model 61-4551 power car. Its main task is to provide electricity to passenger trains on non-electrified sections of railways with a track gauge of 1520 mm.
The "St. Panteleimon" medical train was developed at the Tver Carriage Works (part of Transmashholding). The train was registered with Roszdravnadzor in July of this year.
It is worth noting that medical trains were first launched in Russia in 1993. Since then, 4 such trains have been built.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that a fully autonomous train will be launched in Moscow in 2026.
