A triboelectric nanogenerator (TENG) has been developed at Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University (SPbPU). The device has no analogues in Russia.
The device converts mechanical energy of friction into electricity. It allows you to charge your smartphone from the friction of clothing fabric while walking.
It uses random mechanical energy from the contact of different materials during the movement of people, machines, any objects of the environment. To a large extent, the effect of the generator depends on the properties of the pair of materials in contact.
The invention generates voltage up to 170 V. E. It uses the effect of electromagnetic induction and contact electrification. Charges are formed when different materials come into contact. This ensures constant energy generation.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that a contactless charger for drones was developed in Novosibirsk.
