Russian Railways (RZD) is planning to create its own shipping companies, the company's press service reported.
The implementation of this plan will allow for the redistribution of road and rail freight transport.
A good initiative is being discussed, so that perhaps Russian Railways could create its own shipping companies that could operate. We once conducted research work where we saw that a fairly large volume of cargo gravitates towards the river, especially in the direction of the Azov-Black Sea region, but most of the cargo, of course, is transported by road and rail.
According to Konstantin Anisimov, many foreign railway companies have their own shipping "subsidiaries." Their interaction optimizes freight transport.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that Russian Railways suspended the transportation of commercial cargo.
