"VOLGOTRANS-2502" belongs to a new class of "river-sea" tankers with an increased class of environmental safety and automation. It was launched at the "Lotos" plant of the Southern Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Center of USC. The vessel will undergo completion work, mooring and sea trials, after which "VOLGOTRANS-2502" will be put into operation.
The tanker is being built by order of JSC "MASHPROMLEASING" for the shipping company "VOLGOTRANS". It has six cargo tanks for the transportation of crude oil and petroleum products, including gasoline, vegetable oils and chemical cargoes. If necessary, the chemical tanker can deliver cargoes of two different grades simultaneously.
"VOLGOTRANS-2502" fully complies with international requirements for the transportation of petroleum products. Its dimensions allow it to navigate the Volga-Don Shipping Canal and the Volga-Baltic Waterway.
Project RST 25/7
Steel single-deck motor vessel with two поворотными винторулевыми колонками, with a forecastle and poop, with an aft location of the wheelhouse and engine room, with a double bottom, double sides and a trunk in the area of cargo tanks. Developed by KB "Vympel".
Vessels of this project can be used all year round in non-freezing seas, in finely broken rarefied ice of non-Arctic seas with a thickness of 0.40 m, and in conditions of extended navigation in rivers in accordance with the ice class (ice 40) at air temperatures up to –20 °С.
Characteristics of vessels of project RST 25/7:

- capacity of cargo tanks, m3 — 6752;
- capacity of slop tanks, m3 — 238;
- maximum continuous power of the main engine, kW — 2 × 1200;
- vessel autonomy in terms of fuel reserves — 20 days for marine conditions and 10 days when sailing on the river;
- cruising range with full reserves — about 4000 nautical miles.
This is the second chemical tanker of this project. The customer accepted "VOLGOTRANS-2501" in April 2023.
