The crew of the gas turbine T-80BVM tank, equipped with the most advanced TMT-K track mine sweeping system developed by specialists from JSC "FNPC "Stankomash", overcomes minefields for the subsequent advancement of military equipment. Military expert Evgeny Damantsev writes about the features of the mine sweeping system.
According to him, the crew uses the 7-ton device to create a path for BMP-2 and BMP-3F, BTR-82A and MT-LB, assault versions of T-62M/MV. With the help of the mine sweeping system, anti-bottom and anti-track, anti-side mines with non-contact magnetic seismic and optoelectronic fuses, as well as pin contact fuses, are eliminated.
TMT-K ensures the elimination of wired control lines by initiating enemy landmines and mines.
