Пролёт запрещён: средства РЭБ российских заводов глушат беспилотники Иннополиса

Drones cannot deliver goods, and factories cannot disable jammers for their own safety

Innopolis management complained about the problems with the development of unmanned technology at a round table in the Federation Council. Interference from electronic warfare systems affects satellite signals that drones should receive.

In fact, the enterprises turned on jammers. The interference affects the receiving path of navigation signals from global satellite systems and blocks their reception by aircraft, which leads to loss of orientation in space and the inability to carry out controlled movement along a given route.
Dmitry Vandyukov, Mayor of Innopolis

The experimental legal regime for drones has been in effect in Innopolis since February 2024. According to it, Innopolis planned to create and launch a new type of transport service using UAVs, create a distributed network of drone ports, and launch high-precision aerial photography for power lines, pipelines, and other infrastructure facilities.

However, experiments with unmanned technology have now reached a dead end. Vandyukov noted that the existing solutions, parameters, and design features of drones make it technically impossible to make drones resistant to Russian electronic warfare equipment. Factories cannot turn them off: there are threats of air attacks on critical infrastructure. A consensus on this issue is now being sought together with the Ministry of Economic Development.

It is worth noting that earlier in Russia, in the southern regions, where the closed sky regime is in effect, the flights of some types of drones in an experimental order were already successfully controlled by the FNIS system, helping to distinguish "friend or foe".

There are also domestic developments in terms of countering electronic warfare equipment for drones. At a minimum, this is "special communication" for drones, which helps to bypass electronic warfare, from NPO "Kaysant", which was presented back in 2023. However, this technology was designed more for military unmanned technology.
