The combined armor panel was developed at the Steel Research Institute of the Kalashnikov concern, which is associated with Rostec. Its weight per square meter is 28 kilograms.
The armor panel is made of a combination of various materials and guarantees Br3 class protection against bullets, that is, practically from any pistol. The class of protection against fragments is C-2. It implies armor resistance capable of withstanding the damaging elements of RGD-5, RGN, RGO and other hand grenades. The weight of a square meter of the product is less than 30 kg. Such plates were developed to protect particularly important facilities (oil and gas storage facilities, ammunition depots, energy infrastructure facilities, etc.), including from FPV drone attacks.
Tests have shown that the product withstands without through penetration:
- firing from an automatic Stechkin pistol with 9 mm lead core cartridges;
- explosion of an F-1 grenade from a distance of 62 centimeters;
- firing from a Yarygin pistol with 9 mm 7N21 cartridges with an armor-piercing core.
Armor plates have proven that they can protect critical infrastructure facilities from attacks by strike UAVs.
