Russian leader Vladimir Putin officially opened the final section of the M-11 Neva highway, which connects Moscow and St. Petersburg. Travel time between the cities will now be reduced by an hour, thanks to the bypass of Tver. The highway can be considered officially completed.
My colleague and I were talking: I had somewhere in my notes that the road would be 30 minutes faster between Moscow and St. Petersburg, but he says it's an hour, somewhere around 50 minutes — and that's already noticeable.
Notably, Putin arrived at the opening of the section of the highway behind the wheel of the new LADA Aura sedan. Those gathered immediately asked the president how he liked the "Lada".
Good car!
It should be noted that the president's motorcade included an Aurus Arsenal vehicle — a premium minivan with eight seats.
It is worth recalling that the last time Putin drove a Lada car was in August 2010, when he was Prime Minister. Dmitry Medvedev was the President. Putin made a road trip along the Khabarovsk-Chita highway. He was traveling in a yellow sports LADA Kalina.
