Metallurgists of the State Atomic Energy Corporation (Rosatom State Corporation) have shipped key equipment blanks for the reactor hall for the El Dabaa NPP under construction in Egypt (the first station in the country, it is being built in the Matrouh Governorate). This was reported by the corporation's press service.
Employees of AEM-Spetsstal (part of Rosatom State Corporation) sent 24 blanks with a total weight of over 650 tons to the corporation's industrial sites in Volgodonsk, Petrozavodsk, and St. Petersburg. They will be used to manufacture equipment for the primary circuit of the reactor plant, including:
- reactor vessel
- pressure compensator
- main circulation pipeline
Specialists from another enterprise of Rosatom State Corporation – Petrozavodskmash – have started manufacturing pipes for the reactor hall of the first unit of the Egyptian NPP. They will send pipes intended for the main circulation pipeline.
The construction of the El Dabaa NPP began in 2022. The nuclear facility is expected to be commissioned in 2026. This is the first major project of Egypt and Russia in the energy sector.
