Polish authorities have decided not to allow cars from Belarus into the country unless the owner is in the car. The restrictions came into force on July 9 this year.
According to drivers who tried to enter Poland in someone else's vehicle, a general power of attorney is no longer taken into account at the border. Border guards began to demand that the owner of the car be behind the wheel or in the cabin.
It is worth noting that on June 29, 2024, a Regulation was adopted prohibiting individuals from exporting certain goods from the territory of the European Union. The same document notes that the entry of a car "not intended for sale and belonging to a citizen of Belarus who enters the Union in a vehicle strictly for his personal use" is allowed into the EU.
Recall that on September 17, 2023, the Polish authorities introduced a ban on the entry into Poland of passenger cars registered in Russia. The restrictions applied to both drivers and passengers from the Russian Federation or another state.
Note that from 03:00 on July 10, the Polish side also stopped allowing freight vehicles that travel from Belarus through the Kozlovichi checkpoint. Later, in the evening of July 10, information appeared that trucks from Belarus in the direction of Poland are still"moving, but not yet rhythmically."
There are over 600 cars in the queue at the border near the Kozlovichi checkpoint.
Earlierwww1.ru reported that Latvia beganconfiscating cars with Russian license plates on its territory.
