Гарантированное уничтожение техники и живой силы: на что способна российская бомба РБК-500 с УМПК

RBK-500 aerial bombs carry 15 anti-tank submunitions

Russian military forces on the front lines have used an RBK-500 aerial cluster bomb. Guidance to the target was provided by a universal planning and correction module.

Telemetry footage shows that a large part of the forest belt was burned out as a result of the arrival.

A phased, smooth detonation of 108 AO-2.5RT fragmentation submunitions, followed by 126 OAB-2.5, is visible. The cassette with the UMPC kit was dropped from a distance of about 45 - 50 km.

RBK-500 is a one-time bomb cassette. It is a thin-walled aerial bomb. It carries small-caliber submunitions (up to 20 kg). There are several varieties of this bomb, differing in the type of submunitions.

Some RBKs have a removable fairing in the kit, allowing effective installation of ammunition on aircraft with both external suspension and an internal weapons compartment.

In 2010, the Convention on Cluster Munitions came into force. It was joined by 108 states, and another 14 countries signed it, but have not yet ratified it. The largest developers, manufacturers and owners of this type of projectile (Brazil, Israel, India, China, Pakistan, Russia, USA) are not parties to the Convention.

Characteristics of RKB-500 aerial bombs:

  • Length — 1954 - 2500 m
  • Caliber — 450 mm
  • Weight — 480 - 525 kg

Earlier www1.ru reported that a rare Tor-M2KM SAM system was spotted in Crimea. It is effective in intercepting SCALP-EG missiles and rockets
