The "Avtotor" automobile plant has been nurturing the idea of re-motorizing cars for a long time. Auto journalist Maxim Kadakov showed what this looks like in practice when a used car is converted into an electric one.
Thus, a set of 17 control elements, including a charging unit, an electric heater, and various electronic engine systems, as well as a battery, were installed in a used Kia car. The car was transformed from gasoline to electric.
The plant's idea is to modernize the country's aging car fleet. "Avtotor", which already produces electric cars, is ready to produce all the necessary components.
The idea is that such car modernization can be carried out in any service center in the future. However, the question of the price of such a repair kit remains open. The idea is currently being tested in the Kaliningrad region, where "Avtotor" enterprises are located.
