Старый, но даст джазу: российские военные похвалили качества танка Т-80 в боевых условиях

The T-80 differs from other Soviet and Russian models with its powerful gas turbine engine

Russian military personnel on the front lines are pleased with the combat characteristics of the T-80 tank, which features a powerful gas turbine engine. Crews appreciate its speed and maneuverability on the battlefield.

After firing, you can quickly retreat from the position to avoid being hit by either 'birds' or any projectiles. There was an incident where we were already leaving the position when an FPV drone engaged us. The tank sustained no damage, and we successfully retreated.

The military notes that the T-80 performs better in terms of cross-country capability than the T-72. The vehicle confidently overcomes all obstacles on rough terrain, including swamps.

However, despite such successful episodes, tankers in modern conditions prefer to operate in cloudy weather or rain, when the use of enemy drones is difficult.

The machine may be old, but it can still rock. It overcomes all obstacles well.

The T-80BVM is the latest modification of the T-80 main battle tank, which has been in production since 1976. Deliveries to the Russian Armed Forces began in 2019. All vehicles of the "family" received a gas turbine engine, which allows them to accelerate to 70 km/h. The T-80BVM has an improved 125-millimeter gun, and the gas turbine engine has been upgraded - its power has increased to 1,250 hp.

The tank's armor is reinforced with a modular dynamic protection system and anti-cumulative lattice screens. As a result, the vehicle's survivability, firepower, mobility, and protection have significantly increased.

Tactical and technical characteristics of the T-80 tank:

  • Combat weight — 42.5 t
  • Crew — 3 people
  • Armament — 2A46M-1 125 mm caliber gun, PKT 7.62 mm caliber machine gun, NSVT 12.7 mm caliber anti-aircraft machine gun, 8 81 mm caliber launchers for smoke grenades
  • Sighting devices — 1G42 laser rangefinder sight, TPN-3-49 periscopic night sight
  • Maximum speed — 70 km/h
  • Range — 600 km

Earlier, journalist Alexander Sladkov said that the T-80 will become a model for the industrial production of "king-grills". The makeshift visor helped Russian soldiers protect the combat vehicle from FPV drones.
