PJSC "KAMAZ" has appealed to buyers of K5 model trucks. The auto giant asks not to engage in chip-tuning, as the gearbox cannot cope with the increased torque.
Tuning increases the power of the inline six-cylinder engine to 550 horsepower (almost 100 more than the factory specification). The ZF Traxon gearbox is not designed to operate at such power.
The manufacturer reminded that the cost of a new gearbox is approximately 2 million rubles. In addition, due to chip tuning, the truck loses its warranty.
Representatives of KAMAZ also said that it is necessary to use high-quality fuel filters. It is better, of course, to use original ones – prescribed by the factory. And to use high-quality fuel. Otherwise, a combination of bad fuel and a poor-quality filter can disrupt heat transfer and lead to piston burnout.
