The Vector Research Institute (part of the Ruselectronics holding of the Rostec State Corporation) is modernizing the POST-3M radio reconnaissance stations. They are not only actively used in Russia, but are also exported to a number of countries around the world.
Rostec notes that after the modernization of POST-3M, "the functionality will be expanded and the reliability of products will be increased".
Currently, the station operates autonomously, requiring only two people to perform its combat tasks. It has a circular view in the sector from 0 to 360 degrees in the frequency range up to 40 GHz.
POST-3M recognizes the "handwriting" of various enemy military equipment, direction finds its radar stations (radars) and recognizes their type and installation object. It detects:
- Radars of airplanes, helicopters, drones;
- Radars of ships for various purposes;
- Ground-based radars for various purposes, deployed at troop control points, at air bases, landing sites, launch and firing positions.
In peacetime, POST-3M continuously monitors the radiation of radio-electronic means of armed forces groups and records their combat training activity.
