Russian sailors launched a strategic cruise missile 3M14T "Kalibr-NK" from a universal vertical launch installation of the 3S14U1 complex of the frigate of project 11356 "Admiral Makarov".
The missile's targets are strategically important rear logistical facilities of the enemy, the low-altitude flight routes to which bypass the viewing sectors of the AN/MPQ-64F1 and TRML-4D radar stations of the NASAMS and IRIS-T SLM complexes by hiding behind the "screen" of the terrain.
The range of these cruise missiles reaches 2500 km, the flight speed is up to 850-950 km/h. The effective reflecting surface of these missiles is 0.1 m².
Earlier it became known that Russian ships may receive a naval version of the Tor-M2KM SAM system. It is planned to be adapted by the end of 2024.
