Russian military personnel have tested a new version of the Vyatka unmanned aerial vehicle, which has been armed with an automatic rifle. The footage was published by the Telegram channel @milinfolive.
In its original version, the Vyatka is a quadcopter that, in its original version, is capable of dropping munitions on the enemy or operating as a kamikaze drone. The operator controls it using FPV goggles.
Judging by the presented footage, now, instead of a device for dropping munitions, a shortened version of the AK-74 rifle with a muzzle brake-compensator has been attached under the drone's frame.
During the tests at the training ground, the drone hit two out of three balloons that served as targets. The UAV operator destroyed two conditional targets on the first try, but the third balloon remained invisible, although the burst passed near it.
The authors of the publication noted that it is still difficult to judge the effectiveness of such a tandem in real combat conditions.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that Russia has created a new VT-30E unmanned helicopter to combat unmanned boats. The device can monitor the sea area around the clock.
