The head of the International Boxing Association, Umar Kremlev, spoke about the future of the largest car dealer Rolf, which was transferred to state ownership. According to him, the plans include increasing the company's presence in the Russian regions. In addition, Rolf is not averse to creating its own car and entering the market of other countries with it.
I would like to enter neighboring countries, work in different directions: produce spare parts, tires, create my own car. They are making plans for the company to grow.
He noted that representatives of Rolf had already held negotiations with potential partners in China. However, Kremlev did not go into details.
Criminal case and nationalization of Rolf
The Rolf company was founded in 1991 by Sergei Petrov. In 2007, he transferred control of the company to the Cypriot firm Delance Limited because he became a member of the State Duma. In 2015, Petrov left politics, and later in 2019 he became a citizen of Austria.
In 2019, searches were carried out in the offices of the holding in Moscow and St. Petersburg as part of a criminal case on the transfer of funds abroad using forged documents. Its defendants were Rolf board member Anatoly Kairo (sentenced to 8.5 years), Sergei Petrov and ex-CEO Tatyana Lukovetskaya.
In December 2023, President Vladimir Putin transferred the Rolf holding to the management of Rosimushchestvo. Petrov called the incident "legal lawlessness", and presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov explained this decision by economic expediency.
At the end of 2022, Rolf was the second largest car dealer in Russia. The company has 59 car dealerships and 3 mega-malls – the latter sell used cars.
