Выдерживают попадание пистолетных пуль и осколков: российские саперы получили бронежилеты «Оберег-С»

Sapper body armor weighs only 5 kg and has a large area of protection against fragments

The Tula plant "Oktava" (part of the state corporation "Rostec") has supplied the Russian army with the first batch of sapper body armor "Obereg-S". Unlike analogues, these personal protective equipment are light, mobile and have a large area of protection against fragments.

Rostec noted that the new body armor takes into account the specifics of the work of explosive ordnance disposal technicians and differs from the main "Obereg" family, which is more focused on stopping small arms bullets. The "Obereg-S" has a special design with an increased area of protection against fragments. At the same time, the body armor for sappers is lightweight - only up to 5 kg.

In "Obereg-S", ceramic armor plates are replaced with ballistic packages of special protection class C2 and Br1+. They withstand being hit by fragments and pistol bullets, and also protect against the main types of modern anti-personnel mines.

The ammunition is equipped with an adjustable collar, so when using a helmet with a visor, no gaps are formed, which prevents fragments from entering the face and neck area. The body armor received protection for the groin and inner thighs, thanks to which the sapper will be able to work from one knee.

Our "Obereg-S" has passed all the tests, and we are currently supplying a batch of equipment to the engineering group. We have received the first positive feedback about our products, especially in terms of their light weight and convenience. "Obereg-S" was created specifically at the request of specialists in humanitarian demining, who, as a rule, work in an area where the danger of fire contact is low, so massive protection is not required.
Pavel Pavlenko, General Director of Oktava

"Obereg-S" is made with traditional rear and front pockets for protective elements, as well as with adjustable fasteners and straps. The product is complemented by a supporting belt, which optimizes the load on the spine and fixes the lower back. The vest has a semi-stretcher system in case evacuation is required in case of injury.

Earlier www1.ru reported that the Russian military received camouflage "invisibility suits". These products are designed to make a person invisible to optical devices operating in the IR range, both in the dark and in daylight.
