Specialists from the Center for Monitoring and Management of the Public Communication Network (CMU SSOP), which is subordinate to Roskomnadzor, have developed the "Proset" application for checking the quality of communication on mobile devices. It is a Russian analogue of the foreign application Speedtest.
"Proset" is a domestic analogue of the foreign application Speedtest, while it has additional functions. For example, the user will be able to determine the speed of the Internet connection, clarify information about the availability of a resource on the Web, and check whether a site or service is on the list of blocked ones.
Checking the speed of the Internet connection will begin after pressing the "Start" button. After the test is completed, the data reception and transmission speeds, as well as the server signal delay value (ping), will be displayed. You can get information about the connection parameters by clicking the "Connection" button. To check the availability of a particular resource, you must enter its address in the "Resource Availability" tab.
The "Proset" program is suitable for smartphones on the Android platform. You can download it in the domestic application store RuStore.
Earlier www1.ru reported that Russians will be able to connect to satellite communications from smartphones. Hybrid networks will allow access to communication and use the Internet even where there are no cell towers.
