An all-season tire testing center will be created in Russia, which will allow for full-fledged tire testing. Currently, the Ministry of Industry and Trade is working on its concept. The site should start operating on the basis of the Testing Center of FSUE "NAMI", better known as the Dmitrov Automobile Proving Ground.
Auto journalist Maxim Kadakov noted that despite the presence of the Yaroslavl "Vershina" center, the Nizhnekamsk STC Kama, as well as the Dmitrov Automobile Proving Ground, it is impossible to fully test summer and winter tires in Russia.
Previously, all the "science" of the St. Petersburg Nokian Tyres plant was concentrated in Finland, where such conditions exist. In Russia, it is almost impossible to conduct large-scale all-season tire tests.
The creation of an all-season tire testing center should solve this problem, which is of considerable scale. According to Kadakov, the tire industry's need for testing next year is more than 3,000 sets of tires.
