The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum will be held in St. Petersburg from June 5 to 8. On the opening day, a new car from AvtoVAZ, the LADA Iskra, will be presented. The car should be positioned in the model range between the Vesta and Granta. On the eve of the premiere, automotive industry experts expressed their assumptions about how much this car will cost.
The head of the Autostat analytical agency, Sergey Tselikov, believes that the price of the car will be important for its popularity. The new product from AvtoVAZ will be able to occupy a free niche between the Granta and Vesta if the plant offers an adequate price for it.
The President of the Union of Automobile Dealers, Vyacheslav Zhigalov, believes that the Iskra will cost slightly more than the Granta. The Vice President of the National Automobile Union, Yan Khaitseer, suggested that the price of the car would be around 1.24 million rubles.
Note that AvtoVAZ planned for the Iskra to replace the Granta on the assembly line. Last year, speaking at SPIEF, the head of the auto giant, Maxim Sokolov, announced this, but later AvtoVAZ abandoned this plan.
