The border patrol ship of the second rank "Sakhalin" of project 22120 "Purga" was launched in St. Petersburg at the Almaz shipyard. The ship became the 11th built under the project.
The ship is designed for the coastal protection of the Border Service of the FSB of Russia and the protection of the 200-mile economic zone, as well as control over fishing.
The length of the ships of project 22120 is 71 meters, the draft is 3.6 meters, and the width is 10.4 meters. The full speed reaches 21.5 knots, the cruising range is 6,000 miles, and the autonomy is 30 days. For operation in ice conditions, the ship's hull is equipped with ice reinforcement. The ship has a helicopter pad.
"Sakhalin" became the third ship of the project after "Podolsk" and "Ufa" to receive weapons. A 30-millimeter six-barreled artillery mount AK-306 was installed on the ship. It should be noted that the first eight ships of project 22120 did not have weapons.
Earlier in Russia, tests of the nuclear icebreaker "Yakutia" with two RITM-200 reactors began. The shipbuilders will check the operability of all systems and mechanisms of the vessel, the quality of installation of ship equipment.
