The rescue vessel "Voevoda" of Project 23700, built by the Baltic Shipyard "Yantar" (part of USC), has started sea trials in Baltiysk.
The customer was the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the contract for the construction of the vessel was concluded in 2016. The shipbuilders of "Yantar" laid down "Voevoda" in 2017.
It was expected that the rescue vessel would be handed over to the customer in the fall of 2019, but the deadlines were repeatedly postponed. In 2019, "Voevoda" was only launched, and the vessel was completed for another four years.
After passing all the tests, the vessel, designed to provide emergency rescue operations and supply small search and rescue crafts, will join Rosmorrechflot.
