Russia will completely replace Siemens and General Electric high-power gas turbines and is no longer dependent on supplies of these products from any foreign countries. This was stated by the head of Rostec State Corporation, Sergey Chemezov, at a meeting with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin. According to him, a new domestic turbine from UEC will help in this: GTD-110M.
GTD-110M becamethe first Russian turbine capable of operating in the power range from 118 MW to 495 MW and higher.
We are installing it at our "Udarnaya" station, which is being built on the Taman Peninsula. This is the first serial turbine. Now we are confident that we can be independent. [...] Now we can move away from both Siemens and General Electric.
The equipment of the second power unit of the station, which includes the superturbine, has already been tested. It successfully operated for 72 hours in the nominal power mode of 230 MW and contributed to the Unified Energy System of Russia, confirming all the declared characteristics. The "Udarnaya" TPP will be fully operational by the end of the year.
