В Томске начнут обучать операторов беспилотных систем

The new program will be available to TSU students and will appear in 2025

Tomsk State University (TSU) will create a new educational program "Design and Management Technologies for Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS)." The training will provide an understanding of the principles of unmanned systems management and provide a relevant specialty with further access to the labor market. The UAS specialist training program will begin in the new year, the Ministry of Education and Science shared the news.

The recruitment of students for the new educational program will be conducted for two enlarged groups of the Faculty of Physics and Technology (FPT) and the Faculty of Innovative Technologies (FIT) - in the areas of  "Ballistics and Hydroaerodynamics" and "Innovation Studies", respectively. In the first year, 20 people will be able to enter the FPT for state-funded places, and 10 for the FIT. The new program will contain three professional tracks. They are related not only to the physical management of UAS, but also to the management of the unmanned systems infrastructure. Each of the tracks has its own leader, but they will work in collaboration.

The program format consists of three areas of training related to the infrastructure of unmanned aerial vehicle systems and UAV control. Upon graduation, a student can acquire one of two specialties: a drone operator or a design engineer. The program format also involves assigning micro-qualifications to students.

Specialists who will be trained in the field of "Innovation Studies" will be able to work, including in the SPC, and manage projects - assemble teams and implement technologies. This is precisely what the competencies are aimed at - managers of science-intensive projects in the field of UAS.
Stanislav Shidlovsky, Dean of FIT TSU

The decision to create a new program for training UAS specialists was dictated by the growing demand for these professions. According to statistics from the RosNavyk platform for monitoring and analyzing in-demand professions, more than 1,000 vacancies have been identified in Russia in the last six months alone for people who are knowledgeable in UAV systems.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that Russia will begin training pilots for agro-drones at universities in Stavropol.
