Евросоюз планирует запретить российский аналог SWIFT и не только

The decision may be made as part of the 14th package of sanctions

Another package of sanctions from the "European partners" is on the way. According to Bloomberg, the European Union may impose a ban on the use of the System for Transfer of Financial Messages (SPFS) of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation (analogue of SWIFT). Currently, the electronic payment system is already operating in 20 countries, and the mechanism allows Russia to circumvent a number of sanctions obstacles in settlements with partner countries.

Among the future prohibitions, there may also be a ban on the export of manganese ore and rare earth metals, as well as the import of helium.

Additionally, it is planned to introduce restrictions against partner companies from other countries (UAE, Turkey and China) that continue to cooperate with Russia.

Transport companies are also in the sights of the European Union. Their activities are planned to be restricted if Russian capital is present in the amount of 25%. Additionally, there were reports of a possible ban on the use of 11 ports for ships that allegedly continue to work with Russia.

It is worth noting that Russia and Iran planned to create new methods for mutual settlements using digital currency and digital financial assets. It is worth recalling that the Iranian banking system has been under US sanctions since 2006. And in general, until recently, Iran was the country with the largest number of sanctions in the world, but now Russia has overtaken it.

Earlier www1.ru noted that the National Payment Card System (NSPK), which is the operator of Mir cards, fell under US sanctions.
