The solemn launching ceremony of the third high-speed passenger catamaran of project 04580 "Kotlin" named "Fort Alexander I" took place at the Sredne-Nevsky Shipbuilding Plant in St. Petersburg. The festive event gathered the Vice-Governor of St. Petersburg, representatives of the State Duma of Russia, as well as the heads of the shipbuilding plant and other distinguished guests.
Sergey Lyashenko, Deputy General Director of USC for Production Activities, noted the innovative nature of the project for Russia in the field of passenger and tourist transportation. The catamarans of the "Kotlin" project have already aroused interest in Tatarstan, Bashkiria, and Karelia, and the developers, together with the builders, are ready to continue the series.
Yuri Nabatov, General Director of Neva Travel, expressed confidence in the further renewal of the fleet for urban passenger transportation in St. Petersburg. He emphasized the successful operation of the first catamaran and expressed confidence that the new vessel will also be popular among passengers.
A year ago, we launched the first lead catamaran, "Fort Kronshtlot". The vessels turned out to be excellent. They performed very well during the 2023 navigation season. We receive only the best feedback from our dear passengers. And now we are launching "Fort Alexander I" with different feelings. We are launching it with the confidence that this vessel will carry passengers, that it will be in high and stable demand, that this vessel is reliable and comfortable.
The head of the shipyard, Vladimir Seredokho, emphasized the importance of the project for changing the face of the city and creating a comfortable environment for residents and tourists. He expressed gratitude to the team for their trust and joint efforts in the implementation of the project.
