Ministry of Industry and Trade: Engine building is a systemically important sector of the economy

The head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, Denis Manturov, paid a working visit to the Salyut production complex in Moscow. Together with the head of Rostec, Sergei Chemezov, and the director of UEC, Vadima Badeha, the minister inspected the production of engines.

Manturov was shown the workshops where AI-222-25 turbojet engines are assembled for training and light aircraft, PD-14, PD-8 and PD-35 engines for passenger aircraft. He also got acquainted with the production of parts and assembly units of TV7-117 engines, which are installed on helicopters.

According to him, the production volumes of products are increasing at UEC enterprises within the framework of the state defense order and civilian products. Manturov stressed that attention should be paid to the production of components: electronics, bearings for aviation.

New production complex

The construction of a new production complex has begun on the territory of Salyut. It will unite MMP named after V.V. Chernyshev, Salyut, as well as the Rostec Additive Technology Center. The new buildings are expected to be ready in 2025.
