Heavier than competitors, but protects better than analogues: "Kalashnikov" will show the titanium helmet "Bars-L" for the first time

The helmet was developed at the "NII Stali"

Specialists of JSC "NII Stali" (part of the Kalashnikov arms concern) will present the titanium helmet "Bars-L" for the first time at the exhibition of security technologies "Expotechnostrazh". The event will be held from April 3 to 5 in St. Petersburg.

Equipment for special forces fighters

The "Bars-L" helmet corresponds to the "Elbrus-T" in terms of protection area and external attachments, but differs in shape and protective characteristics. It is specified that the new titanium development received protection against Br2+ class bullets (will protect against a bullet fired from a machine gun).

The protection against standard fragments and natural fragmentation fragments of the "Bars-L" is higher than that of helmets made of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene of high plane (UHMWPE) and aramids.

The press service of "Kalashnikov" explained that the weight of "Bars-L" has been increased by 100-120 g compared to analogues. However, this gives the helmet advantages that will interest both law enforcement agencies and private buyers.
