The concern «Kalashnikov» announced the start of mass production of titanium helmets «Elbrus-T». Compared to more common composite helmets, titanium ones have a higher resistance to shrapnel.  

«JSC "NII Steel" has begun mass production of titanium Elbrus-T helmets. The titanium helmet has several advantages over fully composite helmets. One of them is a higher resistance to natural fragmentation shrapnel, having sharp cutting edges (hand grenade shrapnel, grenade launcher shots PBS, mines, shrapnel explosive projectiles)», - was reported by «Kalashnikov».

The concern representatives noted that the titanium helmet surpasses competitors in performance. But its production cycle is decent: even taking into account existing production capacities and established supply chains, the helmet production cycle is not less than 3 months.
