Подводная лодка «Можайск» отработала глубоководное погружение в морском полигоне Балтийского флота

The crew of the submarine "Mozhaisk" successfully completed a deep-sea dive to 190 meters

The crew of the Baltic Fleet's submarine "Mozhaisk" successfully conducted a deep-sea dive in one of the Baltic Sea areas. According to the press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense, as part of working out a planned course task, the crew performed a number of elements, checking the operation of all systems and mechanisms of the submarine.

The dive was carried out at various depths, reaching a maximum depth of 190 meters. The crew thoroughly practiced ship control algorithms at depths and with various methods of surfacing.

After completing the underwater part of the exercise, the crew of the "Mozhaisk" submarine surfaced and continued to carry out activities in accordance with the combat training plan. The submarine exercise was supported by small anti-submarine ships and support vessels of the Baltic Naval Base.

The submarine "Mozhaisk" joined the Navy in late November 2023. It is the fifth in the series of Project 636.3 submarines developed by the Rubin Central Design Bureau and built at the Admiralty Shipyards. Currently, JSC "Admiralty Shipyards" continues to build the sixth boat in this series, called "Yakutsk". Both boats were laid down in parallel in August 2021. This type of submarine is a further development of Project 877 "Varshavyanka" from the Rubin Design Bureau, which is part of the USC. Currently, the Russian Navy includes 11 submarines of this type. Equipped with advanced torpedo weapons and the Kalibr missile system, it is an important link in Russia's defense strategy, successfully used in real combat operations.

Earlier this month, the submarine "Mozhaisk" began working out task L-2 in the Baltic Fleet.
