AvtoVAZ intends to reduce the production of LADA Vesta with manual transmission by 2025, increasing the production of these cars with a Chinese robot, reports the No Limits Telegram channel, citing its sources at the plant. Until then, it will be easier to find LADA Vesta with a "mechanic" on the market.
Initially, LADA Vesta with a CVT is planned to be produced about 20% with a CVT, and then the ratio will be brought to 50%
Thus, this year 80% of the total volume of the LADA Vesta model will be produced with a manual gearbox, but already in 2025 the ratio of "mechanics" and the Chinese CVT will be 50/50%. This is due to the fact that this is the percentage of customers who would like to purchase Vesta with automatic transmission.
In turn, the editor-in-chief of "Behind the Wheel", Maxim Kadakov, said that VAZ employees want to use a CVT in conjunction with a 1.6-liter engine with a capacity of 106 horsepower. Now the automatic transmission is only available for the 1.8 EVO engine with 122 hp. In addition, LADA Iskra and a crossover based on Vesta, which is still being tested, will be equipped with a CVT, the journalist claims.
