Every second new car last year was produced under the LADA badge

The Avtostat analytical agency has calculated that 730.4 thousand new cars were produced in Russia in 2023. 48% of this volume came off the AvtoVAZ assembly line. That is, every second car sold in the primary market had a LADA badge. AvtoVAZ also took first place in terms of the share of new cars sold in the year before last, but a new leader appeared in the foreign car segment compared to 2022.

In second place is "Haval Motor Manufacturing Rus", which produces Haval crossovers near Tula. Its share of the new car market in 2023 was 13.6%, or every seventh car.

GAZ is in third place. Every tenth vehicle – a bus, truck or minibus – was produced on the Gorky plant assembly line. Its market share is 9.8%. KamAZ is in fourth place with 6.4%. UAZ (4.9%), Avtotor (4.0%) and Moskvich (3.3%) took fifth, sixth and seventh places respectively.

As a reminder, 687,370 cars were sold on the Russian market in 2022. This data was provided by the Association of European Businesses. AvtoVAZ was the leader, followed by the "Koreans" Kia and Hyundai.

Earlier, www1.ru wrote that in 2022, the total loss of the Russian subsidiaries of automakers Hyundai, Toyota and Nissan after leaving the Russian market amounted to 57 billion rubles.
