The Russian company "Aquarius" has agreed on a partnership with the gaming computer manufacturer Nemifist. As part of the collaboration, PC production will be established at "Aquarius" facilities, and Nemifist will provide its own technologies. This is expected to optimize production processes and help increase the volume of finished products.
A representative of "Aquarius" stated that the company has produced almost 2 million computers for the consumer and corporate sectors. And Nemifist produces about 100 computers per month — in a standard form factor and integrated into a table. The developers did not disclose sales figures for 2023.
Specifics of gaming computer production
Last year, 6.47 million computers were purchased in Russia, which is 12.5% more than in 2022. At the same time, 20% of sales volume comes from gaming computers. Such PCs are more difficult to design, and the components for them are more expensive than for office ones.
Fplus explained that computers for gamers are sold less often than other types of PCs. Considering this, the risks for manufacturers increase.
Risks associated with this PC segment are usually compensated by high margins
The main buyers of gaming computers are large e-sports clubs. At the end of 2023, there were 2.7 e-sports clubs operating in Russia, where they played on 73 thousand PCs. At the same time, the average lifespan of a gaming computer does not exceed four years.
