The United Engine Corporation (UEC) now has a high-performance computing complex (supercomputer) created by "Advance Engineering." It will be used to create digital twins of aircraft engines, Rostec reported.
The supercomputer is capable of performing 219 trillion operations per second. With its help, it is possible to increase the accuracy of computer modeling of engine operation, getting closer to full-scale tests.
According to Vyacheslav Khristolyubov, Director of Digital Transformation at UEC, modern aircraft engine design is impossible without supercomputers.
Digital twins improve the efficiency of engineers. With their help, you can check the basic calculations. In addition, VR technologies (virtual reality) will help replace part of the physical tests before the prototype engine appears.
