Russian aviation has used a new "miracle bomb" — the universal gliding munition (UGM) D-30SN. The aerial bomb has already proven its effectiveness, which impressed journalists from the German publication Bild.
There is no official information about the munition, but a source reported that the diameter of the D-30SN is 30 cm. The bomb is made in the form of a pipe with wings, inside which are control and satellite self-guidance systems, as well as more than 100 kg of explosives.
UGMs can be dropped by aircraft, and the munition can also be launched using a multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) such as the "Tornado-S". The D-30SN was used without a jet engine, but the developers plan to improve it.
German Reaction
Journalist Julian Röpcke from the German publication Bild evaluated the UGM, calling the munition incredibly accurate. According to him, the aerial bomb hits the target thanks to its unique design and GLONASS navigation system.
The munitions are dropped by the Su-34 bomber with amazing accuracy.
