The Center for Integrated Unmanned Solutions (TsKBR) has presented an innovative solution to enhance the service dogs of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations. An FPV device with a video camera and speaker has been developed to ensure more effective cooperation between dog handlers and their four-legged assistants in extreme conditions.
The idea arose thanks to the collaboration between TsKBR and the Ministry of Emergency Situations. One of the problems faced by dog handlers is that they do not always have the opportunity to move with the animal. In some situations, such as searching for victims under rubble, the dog is forced to act independently. The FPV device is designed to solve this problem by providing dog handlers with remote control over the animal using voice commands.
The device is equipped with a radio channel that transmits video information, allowing dog handlers to monitor the actions of their charges in real time.
FPV is two radio channels, a control channel and a video transmission channel. For the four-legged employees of the departments, we have implemented a video transmission channel. Control is carried out via the "acoustic channel" - the voice of the dog handler. Now it is a small device with an antenna and a speaker, which is attached to the animal's chest on a special harness. The dog handler sees the same thing as his "partner" and can talk to him, giving commands.
The device promises to significantly increase the efficiency of search operations and ensure the safety of both animals and their owners. The new technology has already proven itself in the service of the army, and, according to Kuzyakin, not using it in peaceful life is "to put it mildly, wasteful."
Earlier, TsKBR taught Russian FPV drones to switch to self-guided torpedo mode.
