KamAZ's partner company – OJSC «RIAT» – has presented its «RIAT-ECO» line of garbage trucks based on KamAZ chassis on the market. Since 2022, when the project began, it has developed and launched the serial production of three garbage trucks of different capacities and different waste disposal directions.
The first garbage truck was assembled on the basis of the KAMAZ – Compass 9 chassis. Its body with a useful volume of 8 m³ collects more than four tons of garbage in one trip. When loading, the garbage passes through a clamping device that presses it with a compaction ratio of 6:1.
The second garbage truck in the line, based on the KAMAZ – Compass 12 chassis, is more maneuverable and designed for use in city courtyards. The volume of its body is 9 m³, the waste compaction ratio in it is also a maximum of 6:1.
The third garbage truck in the line is assembled on the basis of the two-axle KAMAZ-53605 chassis, it has a volume of 16 m³ and is in demand among urban utilities and repair and construction units of housing and communal services. It can operate in automatic, manual and mixed modes.
Earlier, KamAZ stated that they are transitioning to unmanned, hydrogen and electric vehicles localized in Russia with promising types of power plants – hybrid, fully electric, hydrogen. Updates are expected for both existing lines and the entire product range. By 2030, thanks to the growth of areas for work, the auto concern plans to increase its income more than three times to almost a billion rubles.
